Can I use the en-el3a battery on the nikon d80 which uses en-el3e one.?
It appears not. The EN-EL3e battery has three contacts the the EN-EL3a only has two. You can use the EN-EL3e in older cameras designed to use the EN-EL3a, but not vice versa.
Besides… I just tried to insert an EN-EL3a into my D200 and it won’t go. There are 3 pins in the bottom of the battery chamber and the middle pin prevents the battery from seating. I assume that the D80 is the same.
