Olympus FE-310 Digital Camera Problem?

My Olympus camera wont turn on! When i turn it on the slide the battery cover over a picture pops up saying full battery and battery cover is open. Then when i slide the cover back into place the screen just turns black then five seconds later or when i press a button it turns off. Even when i don’t slide the cover and just try to turn it on normally it beeps and flashes orange light indicating “low battery.” The Lens is stuck out and wont go in. I can move then lens like pop it in and out. but it wont go in.

Don’t try pushing on the lens. If the fine mechanical parts inside it break, you will definitely be needing a new camera.

It may be a problem with the terminals inside the camera. Take it to your nearest photographic specialty store. Someone there should be able to give you a hand, and perhaps determine whether the terminals need to be cleaned, or whether it is a more serious problem with your camera.

If it is a more serious problem, and the camera is less than a year old, it will still be under the manufacturers warranty. The store which you purchased the camera from will be able to send it in to be repaired or replaced at no cost to you as long as you have kept your proof of purchase.
