Suggestions please: Want to buy whole new angle lens D200?

I'm going to be buying a new wide-angle lens for my Nikon D200 soon. I'm looking for some suggestions as to which. I'm looking for something short, fast, and that's more or less. Obviously I like the quality of what I can get for a reasonable price. Write your own review of your favorites, or send links to good reviews and product descriptions. I always go back and choose a best answer once the question is closed. : O) Thanks for your advice!

I've been using the Nikkor 12-24mm zoom for about four years ... first in my D100 and now my D200. I used it in a nine and a half weeks and sailing in the Caribbean and has a few more pictures surprising. Wiished I had had the 10.5mm fisheye, but in reality is limited in its use.
