dslr camera beginner

The digital camera I have and I’m reviewing is Nikon D40. It is a digital SLR camera. It uses any Nikon lens. It is very lightweight compared to other digital SLR cameras. It’s so very easy to use.
The lens it’s bundled with, the Nikon 18-55mm, is a great lens for a beginner. It is possible to shoot anything from macro to portrait to nature photos.
It starts from 200 ISO, which is another great feature. It has a very simple and easy to use menu. Also it is very easy to customize the menu according to your needs. It’s LCD screen is great. It’s big, bright and clear.
It does not have an integrated focus motor, which means that to do auto focus you need to use a lens that has built in motor. It is no problem considering most of the Nikon lenses have motors in them. The ones that don’t have are decades old.
It is great for macro, action, nature, portrait photography. Actually as it is possible to use different lenses, Nikon D40 is effective for any kind of photography–except sports. Professional sports photography requires high end cameras.
What I don’t like about is that it doesn’t have white balance and ISO buttons. So you have to scroll the menus each time you need to change one of them. Also it doesn’t have a screen on top like higher end models. It is drawback because you have to rely on the main screen which wastes battery.
Its viewfinder could have been better. It has only three focus points which make it difficult to auto focus. All in all, it is a budget SLR camera and it’s certainly worth it.
Almost anyone would be satisfied with the Nikon D40, whether they’re a beginner or professional.

what’s the best DSLR camera to get for a beginner?
i’m really into photography but i’m only 14 so i cant afford a reall really good one, although i’d like to buy a decent DSLR camera which isnt overly expensive. could some experienced photographers help me out ?
As a beginner, I wouldn’t bother with a DSLR plus some lenses.
Not a necessary expense at all.
Use whatever funds you have available to get a Point ‘n’ Shoot digital of 5mp or above and use THAT to gain your experience.
Remember that great photographs are a product of the brain behind the eye behind the camera.
Shoot and shoot and shoot. Self analyse. Get valued and valid analysis from those whose opinion counts – not your grandma!
Some time later, if you have the eye, if you find that you have the aptitude, consider spending on an SLR body and a couple of lenses. NOT NOW!
Incidentally, I spent a great deal of time as a Pro Photog using a 5mp PnS camera and I repeat what I said – it is NOT the equipment that produces great photographs.
Where there are budget restraints, a beginner should surely consider what the cost is of setting up with a good body and at least two quality lenses … only then to find that they don’t have the talent?
Wake up and smell the coffee, people!
