DSLR camera? better choice?

Pentax K100d which cost around $569 can, or Nikon d40 which does not go that far with its price of $589 can… I read that both of them uses different battery types. The Nikon uses Li-ion battery and Pentax K100d uses double AA. Which would be the better choice taking into consideration all the features that comes with it? features, pixels, durability, applications and etc…

Pentax K100D. I believe it has more features than the D40.

Pentax K100D – Uses AA batteries, good because you can buy them anywhere, but so not last as long as the Li-Ion. Also this camera you can use all lens even made for Pentax cameras. This goes back over 40 years. The image stabilization is on the camera body so it works with any lens.

Nikon D40 – Li-Ion Batteries. Uses a special lens which is sometimes harder to find for it. My friend just bought a D40 and is having this problem now. The image stabilization is in the lens, meaning you have to buy more expensive lens to use it.

(A few summers ago I bought a Pentax *ist DL and a friend bought a Nikon D50 at the same time. I compared both cameras, found the DL had more features. It was selling for $200 less than the Nikon. Sometimes Nikons cost more because they are Nikons, not necessarily because they are much better.)
