Sony Cybershot TX7 Reviewed – The Camera Taylor Swift Task on TV
The Sony Cybershot TX7 is the new camera in the point and shoot category everyone seems to be talking about. It is even featured on a TV commercial with Taylor Swift, where the country singer shows how easy it is to take a panorama picture. Here is a review about the popular Sony Cybershot TX7.
This modern camera from Sony has a lot going for it and many features not found typically in this category of camera.
As you might expect it has a slim and compact design so it is easy to slip in a pocket and take just about anywhere. The outer casing is clashed aluminum and at this date has three colors: silver blue and red (actually closer to a pink).
The back side is almost all the touch screen display. This touch screen display is very effortless to use and most of the camera operate are performed here. There are very few buttons on the camera. It allows viewing of pictures by touch and scrolling and it is very smooth.
There are many neat features on the phone. The most popular is sure to be its ability to take panorama pictures with the touch of one button. I tried it several times and it works very easy and the pictures came out great. You just push the shutter and sweep the camera across the area you want a panoramic image of. The camera takes several pictures as you do this and then automatically stitches the images together and you are left with a single seamless picture.
Distinct very helpful feature on the Sony Cybershot TX7 is the backlight corrector. Foresee taking a picture of individual wearing a hat at the beach. Normally, because of so much bright light behind the person, their face, shadowed by the hat, would come out dark and indistinguishable. With this feature the camera actually takes two pictures at different exposures, automatically. It combines them and you are left with a very natural picture where you can see the person wearing the hat and the background is not washed out.
I really liked the built-in anti blink characteristic that directs you if an individual you just shoot a picture of blinked.
There is an anti Motion Blur Mode that is very helpful for taking action pictures. You know how hard it can be to capture just the right instant, say when the soccer player heads the ball? On normal point and shoot digital cameras there is always a delay after you push the shutter and it is hard to time when to take a picture. The Sony Cybershot TX7 takes 6 images in the fraction of a second. This serves to eliminate blur and allows great captivate of activity pictures.
As far as negatives of the camera go, I was hard pressed to find many. Because there are so many features it did take a little learning curve to figure out what all the capabilities were, but overall the camera was very easy to use.

How do I transfer photos from an old digital camera to a PC with Windows XP?
My dad recently found his old cybershot digital camera and has some vacation pics he wants to me to transfer to PC for him, but when i connect it windows says it doesn’t recognize it so I downloaded drivers for it but they are windows 98/98 SE drivers, so that didn’t help. Is there anyway i can get those pictures onto my pc? i don’t have a memory card reader only the camera and its usb cable. what can I do?
by the way the complete camera name is: Sony DSC-S30 Cyber-shot
and in case you’re wondering the camera works fine, as does the pc, the usb thingy where you plug it in, and the usb cable too (i used it on a psp to check)
Get a card reader. They’re available where ever cameras are sold for little $$. XP will see it as a drive so you simply copy / paste.
