SD Memory Card Question?
I just got back from Alaska and took many pictures in two different memory cards in a Canon PowerShot SD780 Digital Elph. When I got home and finish editing photos, working memory card and import the images (which I was using most recently.) However, my first memory card that fills me not register on my computer. In fact, when inserted into the camera, the camera will not even start! Only a small movement of the lens and a flash of green light. Then inserted into a Nikon D60 and said: "This memory card can not be used. The card may be damaged. Insert another card." 1. Is my memory is corrupt (I think) 2. If this is the case, where I can take to recover or at least looked at by an expert in this field. Thank you.
2 things: 1) Format the card will destroy all the images that may be in it. Can be recovered with the software, but probably not. If possible, never on the computer format. Always question in the camera (or one) first. 2) It does not happen often, but memory cards can affect the camera. If the card is switched on without him, but not (or acts strange) when the card is the problem. If no lights with or without the card, then the battery. How big is the card, but it makes a difference. They may look alike, but there is a difference between SD (2 GB or less) and SD-HC (from 4 +). The SD780IS can use a 4 GB card, but I'm not going to work with something else large. If you bought a card of 8 GB or 16 GB (do not know what a point and shoot) would likely cause problems. In addition, everyone is looking to save some money. If you found any generic brand card that sold for $ 5, where everybody was $ 30 for the same thing, probably not and can not be used (And probably not recoverable). Go to a real camera store, which could have the software to try to recover your photos. But do not kid yourself. Good luck.
