Is it legal to video recording DIY Dascham Insurance (the police)?

In the last year I bought a camera flash based video and have used small adhesive brackets to mount to my account. Its not hidden at all and is easily identifiable as such. Is well for me to record myself and others on the road, and even the use of video for insurance claims or contest parking tickets? The chamber "can" also record audio, and an officer would collect if you were in the driver's window.

As a lawyer, I'm pretty sure it's legal. You would to review state laws to be sure, but I've never heard of a crime for public record (that's what you're doing.) The only real concern I can think is if it obstructs your vision while driving, in which case it is possible that the officer hit him with a traffic ticket for having an obstructed view … but even that could probably be well defended in court.
