I have a new camera. Can you explain these terms to me?
ISO (which is 100 to 1250) Burst (H, L and infinite) Slow Shutter (1/8- to 1 -) AutoBracket addition, I have options such as Macro, Normal Picture, Intelligent ISO and scene modes. So how I can make optimal use of these … And how I can configure these options so I can get the best pictures? (I have a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX30) Help. idea.
ISO is the rating the sensitivity of your camera to light. A low ISO like 100, give you very sharp, clear images, but requires a bit of bright light or flash. A high ISO, as 1250, will allow you to take pictures indoors or at night without using a flash in a more natural look. The price for flexibility is that the pictures look less detailed. Higher ISOs are also better to freeze the action. Most times, it probably would be using ISO 200 or 400. Try different ones, and see how you like the results. Burst means that you can take multiple photos in quick succession. H (high – 3 frames per second), L (low – 2 frames per second) with about 5 to 7 photos in that order. Infinite shoots 2 frames per second until the memory card is full, or release the button. Slow Shutter refers to the very low light situations (without flash) when the camera takes a second to 1/8th of 1 second to capture the image. A tripod is necessary in such situations. AutoBracket means that the camera, set in a series of images, lighter, darker, and right on the meter settings of the camera has chosen. Sometimes, the meter will be fooled by large dark backgrounds or lighting bright window. Bracketing is a technique used by professionals and amateurs to make sure you have the "perfect" shot. Macro is for close-ups (flowers, pictures, copy, etc.) Normal is normal. lol Intelligent ISO, means that the camera adjusts the ISO setting if you have not chosen best for a changing situation. Scene Mode, the camera selects the optimal exposure settings of the situation.
