Nikon light speed question.?

I get the sc-28 or SC 29 for when I mount my camera in my stand. I do not know what the difference is not it has 29 AF illuminator. Is this needed? I had no problems with the SB800 iluminator. Does this replace the illumitor SB800? if so it is much better? I could save a few dollars and just get the SC28 .. I read the website and the site looed Adorama and I can not tell the difference. please let me know. (And I sent to Nikon's website, I was there, I did)

The only difference is the AF assist. If the SB-800 is on a support do not need the extra AF assist on the SC-29.
