I_S_Russell gave a good enough answer for most of the terms, so I'll just to add a little place around. Pan – The camera remains at a fixed location (either on a tripod or handheld, but not walking), and moves from side to side. This is what differentiates to a pan shot of car, where the camera physically moves from side to side. Tilt – The camera is again a stationary, but moves upward or downward. The equivalent moving camera for this would be the shot of the crane. Swish pan / tilt swish – also known as a whip pan / tilt whip. These movements are same as a regular pan or tilt, but done quickly in order to create a blur on the action of Russell's crane-shot response. is essentially correct, only I would add that you do not need a real boom crane or arm to get a crane shot effect.
