I would recommend you to stick with global leader brands such as Canon, Nikon, Fuji, Panasonic, Casio, and Olympus. Don’t go for the unknown brands. You need to have a world-wide service center in order to maintenance it after purchase. Don’t buy cheap stuffs from low trust websites. Sometimes they give you the badly refurbished one and don’t do refund nor answer your email/call.

My Olympus Stylus 710 digital camera’s lens won’t open?

I haven’t dropped it or anything, it was just in my pocket.
And when i took it out i tried to turn it on, the lens comes out slightly, then closes, then opens again, then closes and then turns off?
The battery is fully charged, it’s as though the lens is trying to eject but somethings stopping it.
Any ideas?
Please help as it was expensive, i’d take it back to the store where i bought it, but it was bought in America and i live in England!

Repair will likely cost more than a new camera. Use this one as a paperweight and buy a new camera.

Get a case to carry it in. Pockets are usually full of dirt and lint. Some probably got into the mechanism and jammed it.
